Yesterday we read, "The Whales Go By".

We played a math game with goldfish crackers, then we got to eat them.

We colored pictures of whales.

The children picked pictures out of a sack and identified whether they belonged in the ocean or not.  If they belonged in the ocean the children got to stick them on the ocean poster.

They made whale tamborines.

Kade helped me fix the wagon while the big kids were doing preschool.

The kids used their tamborines for a rhythem activity.

They ran a scrub brush through a dish of rice and leaves to see how the rice and leaves get stuck in the bristles.  Some whales don't have teeth and they use baleen, like the bristles, to strain krill and plankton from the water.

They learned some facts about whales.

This morning the babies enjoyed their yogurt.  Cody doesn't look like he is enjoying it in this picture, but he really was.

Kaleolani and Aidan spent the morning being transformers.

Mrs. Barber's students read a story about puffer fish, but I didn't see the title.

The kids learned some facts about puffer fish.

They looked at pictures of different kinds of puffer fish, and they compared and contrasted them.  They also got to touch a real, dead puffer fish.

They pretended to be sharks trying to catch a puffer fish.

They used colored noodles to make puffer fish pictures.
